5 Easy Halloween Costumes That Aren’t Trashy

It’s past the middle of October and I am just now writing a post about Halloween (*sigh*). Let’s commiserate since you have no costume intended if you are feeling behind schedule. Oh, and read on, because I aspire to solve my Halloween post dilemma and your costume dilemma at precisely the same moment.

As for me, I find Halloween to be a tad challenging. I have never been one to dress up just like sexy vampire or a nurse. (Although I did intentionally ruin my first wedding dress by turning it into a zombie bride costume — but that is a story for another day.) And as I get older, I am less likely to devote hours and hours creating.

I went hunting for readymade costumes suitable for the fashionista, this season. If you require a costume that is easy to pull together and provides a sensible quantity of body care, take a look at my top picks.

Victorian Ghost

Pair a nude pump with this ailing white gown and hat combo. Then add your own make-up, together with as much contrast as you can muster. I’m talking thick, dramatic contouring and the darkest lipstick you can find. Betty Rizzo Inspired

The Rizzo of grease has more than her share. Becauseyes, you do get to behave like a rebellious teen if you’re dressed like you.

You may not need to, although this costume can be bought by you from Jet. Find some heeled Mary Janes, a neck scarf crop trousers and a bomber, and you’re good to go. Head to Goodwill or any second-hand store to discover a suitable choice, if you are missing a bit or two.

Flapper Fun

A flapper costume is a timeless option, and among my favorites. I added this dress since it qualifies for Prime transport on Amazon — making it a last-minute option. Add a pair of Mary Janes pantyhose, and a headband with a feather. If you’re able to locate them, elbow-length gloves would be lovely also.
