5 Ways to Stay Classy at Your Holiday Work Party

There’s 1 party annually where business is guaranteed to mix with joy: Your holiday work party. As entertaining as it is to let your hair down with your, the Budget Fashionista remembers that staying refined is just as important as dressing for the occupation. Keep these five tips in mind and you’ll have no qualms about showing your face on Monday morning.

How to Stay Classy at Your Holiday Work Party

Libations: There is always 1 individual who drinks a lot of — do not be her! My rule of thumb would be to watch the workplace slosh (you know who it is) and stay a few drinks behind him/her the entire night. You’re an adult, so stay alert to your limit and you’ll be scotch-free (no pun intended). Here is a link to one of my favorite resources for”just how much to drink” in your vacation fiesta!

Dress: Have the chance to shed your everyday work attire and show some character. I always say to dress somewhere between your chosen”first date attire” and”a night out with the girls” — and ensure it goes along with the theme and expectation (that is, if it’s tropical and onto a boat, do not wear heels and a dress ). Take the chance to stand out, just be certain it’s not because you are hanging out.

Your Own Boss

Talk to Your Boss

Consider again, while your initial inclination is to avoid your boss in any way costs. Take the opportunity to get to know your superiors! Chat about holiday plans, hobbies, etc.

Attendance: Don’t be the last one in the party — It’s not cool, and no matter what you do, do not leave with a fellow co-worker unless you arrived together.

Dancing: Even though the songs may remind you of being at a bar or club, you are not! Keep everything PG and refrain from any sort of moves which include bending, touching the ground, vibration, or being in physical contact.
