Things to Wear to An Evening Wedding
As somebody who has yet to plan a wedding to get herself, I will be quick to admit that an evening wedding sounds fairly lovely. It’s outside during the summer and at the cusp of sunset, or indoors and winter. However you want it, the 6pm wedding (from a bride’s standpoint ) sounds really romantic, and having a perfect lead-in to drinks, dinner, and dance, I can not think of a simpler time to start the festivities.
And then I got an invitation into an evening wedding — which just about altered everything: As a guest…What do I WEAR?!
Images of pantsuits, sheath dresses, and skirts danced in my head. It’s set for March, and even on the west shore (where the ceremony will be outdoors and the party interior ), it will probably start off warm but fast trend to freezing. And who wishes to cover up at a wedding? Aside from picturing to self that if I ever get married at 6pm I’ll mention to guests which we will have plenty of wool blankets available during the day, I have also made this list of”things to wear” that I might consider including in the RSVP.
Wardrobe Suggestions for Day Wedding Attire
1. Formal: This really is the simplest dress-code to stick to with the least amount of anxiety. You might wonder if black is OK and even though it’s an evening wedding, the answer is yes. And dress up it — note that in case you elect for extended, or knee-length using a shawl, you will stay warm throughout the night. My favorite look mono-toned but perfect in color, and is magnificent although subtle.
Asymmetrical Jersey Gown
My choice from Nordstrom’s is $158 and Calvin Klein. Without being outstandish the color is perfect for evening.
2. Semi-Formal: The hardest to dress for since it borders on cocktail attire — but cautious, because you don’t need to look as if you are set to go to the club. I always suggest a dress that reveals either arms or chest, but not both. And if you’re wearing sleeveless, deliver a shawl. In fact, bring a shawl what!
$248, audra Wrap Dress
My evening dress is from BCBG and while reveals some leg leaves space for paying attention!
3. Casual: Whenever I hear of a casual outside wedding, then I automatically assume it’s set on the shore. Casual is fine because it is easy on the pocket and probably the most comfy thing you wear to an event. Do not forget that casual does not imply flip-flops nor does this imply. Opt for skin and you will be sure to look a winner.
I really like this color block dress.
