Beauty Advice: Teen MakeUp Tips

Dear Budget Fashionista,
I’m a two year old girl and I don’t normally wear makeup, but I need to begin. I’m wondering where I need to buy them and what I don’t actually need, in addition to what I should buy and how much I should invest.

Response: The rule of thumb in regards to make-up is KISS- Keep it Simple Stupid. The purpose of make-up is to improve your natural beauty, to not transform you into a clown. As a teen, you wish to focus on keeping clean skin rather than piling on tons of make up that can result in the breakout. The majority of the item you’ll have to do this target may be located at your local Drugstore or Target, Wal-Mart.

Teen MakeUp Tips

1. Gentle facial cleanser. The initial step in any make up routine is to get great skin and that comes from keeping it blank. Start Looking for under $10 for a cleaner from firm Dove, like Neutrogena, Oil of Olay, Aveeno.

2. Good moisturizer. “non-comedogenic” (not cause whiteheads or blackheads) or”non-acnegenic” (should not cause acne) moisturizer with an spf of 15. Try brands Oil of Olay for Sensitive skin- all of which cost under $10.

3. A collection of Lipglosses. Covergirl and bonnie bell is great and cost around $ 4 to $ 5% gloss.

4. Mascara. Maybelline Great Lash is utilized by the majority of the significant celebrity make-up artists.

5. Blush. Use blush to add a glow.  Wet’n” Wild includes a fantastic creme blush and so does Revlon. Use only enough to give your face a rosy glow. Do not pay over $10 to get a blush

6. Concealer. Dab sufficient to cover your own blemishes. Revlon and again L’Oreal both make concealers for under $10.

7. Oil Sheets. These are great for your summer or otherwise tacky times. These sheets absorb the oil from the skin.  Try Clean and Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets.

You might also need to experiment with eyeliners, eyeshadows, etc from budget friendly create lines up like Jane, Wet’n’ Wild, etc..

Everything You Do Not Need
1. Expensive lotions, eye creams, anti-aging serums, harsh facial scrubs (unless prescribed by a physician )
2. Foundation- Let your skin grow somewhat. Employing base too early may clog pores and contribute to acne
3. Expensive lipsticks, mascaras, and eyeliners.
4. Eye shadows- I say this because many teens (and frankly most adults) have zero clue how to place this on properly. Wait until you have experimented a little with cosmetics, then go to a beauty counter and have them show you the way produce a”fresh” eye.
5. Heavy eyeliner. Keep it easy on the eyes.
