I’m vocalist of an alternate band and my image is presumed to be female yet still look tough (a rocker chick) that I want to know how to accomplish this look on a budget. How do dress like a rock star (on a budget)?

1. Find inspiration. Look at all the favorite groups in your genre with female prospects and take notes on their personal style. Look and see what elements of the style you like and can readily integrate into your current wardrobe. For instance the Hole-era style of baby doll dresses and hefty make-up of Courtney Love was a rock chick look. Babydoll gowns are a massive trend this season, so that you can stock them up at stores like Forever 21 and H&M.

2. Develop a Signature Piece. Do you have a signature items which you wear regular like stiletto heels, scarves, bright red hair, etc? If not, create. For instance, constantly wear the babydoll dresses or wear it with converse hot sneakers. Maybe stone an awesome hair cut (using a shocking color) with floral floral dresses.  Focus your energies on maintaining or building a set of those products. Always try be sure you have one womanly and one rocker element in all of your outfits.
