How to Acquire an Elegant Updo: Go Glam with It Is Judy Time’s OLAY/BlogHer TV Tutorial
Confession time: Until recently, I considered a basic ponytail that an updo. An elaborate updo. To me, away from face = everything glam. Bonus points if my ponytail managed a cute tip flip (believe Charlotte in Sex in the City). Then it was a tasteful’. Sigh. My own hair’s been lacking in the glam department. So I decided to get on course by trying an elegant updo… that moment, a actual one.
Finding an elegant updo meant discovering something that would stand out (without requiring hours) and look feminine. I understood what I needed, but had no clue. Bear in mind I had a drawer full of elastic rings and well, more elastic rings. (Hey, they varied in color… does that count?)
I did what anyone in my shoes should do: lift my arms to the sky and cry,”Juuudddyyy!” Seriously, It’s Judy Time out of OLAY/BlogHer TV turned out to be a very useful elegant updo tutorial. I adored her sexy roller coaster, so that I was convinced this one would be enjoyable, just as enlightening and easy to follow. Sure enough, the Judy greeted me, calmly explaining how to go from blah to beautiful hair. She showed me how to receive on my own glam.
Here is the lowdown on my venture to the world of glam. The It is Judy Time elegant updo tutorial was followed by me and wanted to share the scoop on my trip apart from hairbands.
Curl Power
Judy suggested using a heat protectant, then curling hair away from the face with an iron (1 — 1 1/2″ preferred). I got curling segments of my hair. It had been ages since I used this hot and rolly thing-a-ma-jig… would this seriously take me down the glam track? I was eager to see how this would pan out.
I removed the iron from every segment, being careful to keep the roster intact. Judy continues doing this around her head and secures it. Utilize some hairspray after all sections are pinned and let things cool down. I enjoy that Judy frequently says things like,”It really doesn’t have to be perfect,” assuring us that when a roll falls out, it’s not the end of the world. Since the last thing I need is a TMZ camera in my head, as a jab airs around Jen strand imperfection, watching in terror. As if. For calming it, welcome to my imagination and thanks Judy.
Release and Twist
The clips were removed by me once everything cooled. Without even running my hands through my hair, I was loving the look. My own hair took on a more glam style and maintained the curl.
I began twisting sections just at the very top of my head. Bobby pins became my best friend. Make certain because they work wonders, there are plenty on hand.
What Side are You ?
Judy took the rest of her hair and pulled it to one side, with bobby pins to provide the underside area (in the nape) some form and fashion.
Borrows a Fantastic Look
Yes! It’s time. I was thrilled to get to this part. I wrapped pieces of hair around my fingers and rolled it towards my mind, using bobby pins to secure the elaborate production, flat-side down. I was amazed at how easy it was to have such a feminine fashion.
The Last Twist
It was time that is accessory after all the curls were made. I picked a blue flower, but it can be anything (or nothing at all). Be creative! A sparkling butterfly clip, an easy bow… anything goes and it’s an adorable closing touch.
Well, Judy did it again. Thank goodness for beauty tutorials and her hair. They are fun, easy and on top of that, the results are fantastic.
Now, please excuse me. I’m heading out to show my updo that is tasteful off. Sunglasses? Check. Unplugged the curling iron? Check.
Elastic bands? Have at ’em, Kristin Davis.
