How to Do Your Own DIY Foot Spa

I’m a significant proponent of pedicures that are bought. I enjoy having their magic is worked by some other individual on my little tootsies and walking into a salon. Scrubbing and buffing and painting–and don’t forget the massage finale–puts a lady in a fine mood. Honestly, I have absolutely zero problem spending $25 or $30 on myself (err…my feet) every once in a while.

That said, there are a few events where an at-home pampering session is only…necessary. You’re prepping for a date that is sexy and you want to be certain all your piggies are in pristine condition. Perhaps you’ve had a very long day and you require a foot soak to take your mind off the rude lady from your boss’s seemingly-incessant criticism or the metro. Perhaps you just need to primp–a natural-born right.

Whatever your reasoning, I’m here to inspire your DIY foot health spa sesh. We are going to begin at the very start.

Your Own Foot Spa Right at Home

Soak People Bad Boys

Soak Those Bad Boys

Fill out a large basin with water. I love to use a litter box because it’s cheap and big enough for the two feet. You attempt big bowls or even are able to invest in a basin that is made-for-feet. The choice is yours. Add about a small bit of lotion or body wash and a cup of Epsom salts and blend. You might also use essential oil. Allow your feet soak for a good 10 to 15 minutes. I’m kinda lazy, although sometimes I wait until the water becomes cold.

Remove Dead Skin

Dead skin and other unpleasantries wills loosen, which makes it simpler for you to scrub it all away. I use a loofah, other times a pumice stone. My personal favorite, though (and this is a little of a indulgence) is Le Edge. It’s a multipurpose exfoliation tool. It is disgusting–in a way –to find out exactly what this thing scratches off.

DIY Sugar Scrub

To exfoliate your feet, make yourself a DIY sugar scrub. I typically combine 1/8 cup olive oil , 1/4 cup sugar and a teaspoon of honey. Mix and massage on each leg and foot for around three minutes each. Rinse it all away.

Lock in Moisture

Lock In Moisture

Apply lotion to every foot Following your toes have dried and wear the fluffiest, coziest socks you own. The cuter they are, the greater your feet will appear in the long run. Not really, but at least you’ll be sporting adorable socks.
