How To: Get the Most From Old Halloween Costumes
Back in school, when the (two-week) period of Halloween was over, we’d retire our Halloween costumes into a box much like the type we had when we were small. And that box was brought out for the many theme parties which would litter the social calendar.
But now? What’s a grown gal to do with all the extras? The very best costumes go all out and might not stem from”ordinary” wardrobe bits from the get-go. But that does not mean that they can not be worked back into the cupboard for utility.
Find New Uses for Used Halloween Costumes
Bodysuits
Assuming you are not dealing with sheer or mesh, use those bodysuits as an on-trend layering piece. To the traditional cami these essentials would be the next best thing under pencil skirts boyfriend jeans leg pants. Sub in these amounts for tucked-in that is picture-perfect looks.
Tights
For wildly printed or coloured pairs that you wouldn’t want peaking out of skater skirt and boot combos — believe warmth over design. Put tights under pants or full-length skirts to transition weather styles into winter pieces. Leggings stockings and thigh-highs can get use under a different layer.
Sneaks
Those pairs can be perfect for athletic-inspired looks, although we’ve all scooped up a pair of Keds or even to assist us operate across town. Slip-on or lace-upand sweatpants for some street style props, pair your purchase that is on-the-fly.
Lashes
So you bought the double pack of lashes, in case you messed up the first time. If (to your surprise) you nailed it, you’ve got some fairly small falsies left over. Glue on your set for the holiday fetes headed your way. It’s a simple way to crank up the glam factor at festive friend, office or family get-togethers without worrying about too-tight gowns or teetering heels.
