I Tried Here and the Rainbow Hair Trend ’ s What Happened

I could not take it anymore.  With so many women getting on the rainbow hair trend, stepping outside from pink, blue or purple hair (or all at the exact same time), I needed to try it .

Ironically, I’m more of a fashionista who goes for the part of surprise that was bold:  fluorescent nails to go silly socks under pajama trousers, along with my simple ensemble, flashy earrings next to my made face up.   So imagine me walking around with a series of pink in my hair.  Nothing conservative about that.

Simultaneously intrigued but also a bit anxious, I headed to my regional Walmart and bought two colors.  One was a dusty rose hair cut an electric blue gel, and the other.  I half expected the cashier to check at me and inform me I was crazy to try the rainbow hair fad (as if she knew the goods were for me), or to have my Facebook friends say weird things once I changed my profile picture for the purpose of this post.

But all of the comments were positive, including one (thanks, Lori) who said,”Nice pink hair” Comments.  This isn’t to say that folks didn’t think that perhaps I lost my head, but they did not say it.  Whew!

All in all, trying the colors was a ton of fun.  With pink (that often looked deep purple in window light) and shocking bursts of blue, so I felt unexpectedly bolder and edgier, but maybe not in a”I will pick fights together and call your Mother names just to do it” manner.   Trying the rainbow hair fad was one part giddy, just-for-the-fun-of-it silliness yet 1 part”don’t question my intentions, because I’m a quiet (ish) girl with funky colors on my mind .”

The chalk was my favorite over the gel in that it flowed in my hair more obviously.  However, be conscious of chalk hair colours because they’re powdery. Even though they’re”put” with hairspray, I tended to get on my hands and face throughout the day as hair brushed up against my lips or I tucked some strands behind my ear.  Still, no biggie.

Think you wish to try out this trend?  I am actually considering chalk myself during the season!  Listed below are ones worth trying.
