Industry News: Visit Kickstarter for Luxury Jewelry at Lowest Price

Two L.A. businesswomen are using Kickstarter to launch a jewelry brand that promises high-end pieces in a fraction of regular retail prices. The line, called Cy Collection, will feature earrings, necklaces and bracelets. All pieces are brass, double-plated with gold.

By providing top-end pieces at prices found in the jewellery marketplace, cy Collection, developed by Courtney Wood and Yuriko Mitsuyama, aims to fill a niche in quality fashion jewelry. The first collection is designed for modern go, with pieces that can easily transition out of the weekend to the workplace and from day to night.

Co-founder Courtney Wood says there’s a hole in the jewellery marketplace. “You can buy inexpensive, low-quality jewelry or you can spend hundreds of dollars on luxury jewelry. Both these options are drastically overpriced for what you are getting. We think everyone deserves to have beautiful jewelry and pay a fair price for this,” Wood explains.

My Take

This one is going to be a hit, for sure.  The designs are female and timeless, a break from the colored tassel . Sophisticated enough to wear to a formal occasion, but versatile enough to dress up a combo, these bits strike at just the ideal chord with me personally. And of course, I enjoy the price point.

Its Kickstarter campaign was established by cy Collection and it’s already reached its campaign goal. I would say go to Kickstarter and drop $60 for a pair of rings that are really nice until the price goes up to $100.
