Spring 2015: Neon Pastels – Is a Item?
Color us perplexed –we’ve always been under the impression that neon and pastel were essentially two mutually exclusive types of color, and never the two shall meet. But for Spring of 2015, we’re presented with this specific style oxymoron–the neon pastel. So just what makes a neon pastel, or, conversely, a pastel neon? Is it brightly muted? Vividly soft? Vibrantly understated? Umm, all of the above???
As opposed to participate in this fashion trend version of the chicken/egg debate, let us just move into a country of style trend endorsement (neon pastels do exist!) And explore how we will want to integrate this tendency successfully into our super fab Spring wardrobe (yes, we know that it’s just dip, but we like to plan ahead).
Neon Pastels for Spring 2015?
Defining a Neon Pastel
The easiest way is to give examples of what we believe fits into the neon standards for Spring. Our very best comparison would be to think of these artificial sherbet colours of your youth — recall the deliciously colors of cherry, lime, lemon and orange? Add a dash of cherry crimson and frosty lavender — basically vivid, saturated colors which you could nearly taste. That’s what we’re talkin’ about.
Making It Work
We saw some versions swathed in neons, pastels and neon pastels from top to toe , while on the runway for Spring 2015. We are all about mixing neon pastel bits, but that may not be the approach. We suggest picking up a set of neon pastel skinny jeans or top, and matching pieces you already possess, or keeping it more budget friendly using neon pastel accessories (a fab handbag, daring necklace, and/or some super adorable kicks). Can’t wait to get started? Some neon pastel pieces you can get vibrant with now:
