Staying out of Treble: Music-Inspired Bling Under $50

Ah, music.  From fitness center playlists to concerts, songs that let us get on our groove are always good in our publication. Whether we are talking about Beyonce’s remarkable rap abilities in her latest tune with husband Jay-Z, Future, and DJ Khaled”Top Off,” or reminiscing about songs from back in the day (oh boy, that would be Def Leppard, Belinda Carlisle and Eddie Money for me personally ) or excited about checking out a new local band, one thing is certain: our pleasure of music never goes off.

We are defined by music. Many of my junior high memories are of playing the cello in college and getting hooked on Cyndi Lauper and REO Speedwagon. Obviously, like many women I knew I exchange vows. Well, perhaps Jack Wagner — recall his tune,”All I Need” and his GH character Frisco?  Sigh.

Thriller, Material Girl and Eye of the Tiger

Michael Jackson’s”Thriller” was an eargasm prior to”eargasm” was even a word and anybody wearing plastic”Madonna” bracelets was in touch with her inner material girl. “Eye of the Tiger” was fierce enough to make my grandma tap her feet. I recall (somewhat embarrassingly) blasting Air Supply as my friend MaryAnn and I used the handles of a jump rope as a”mic,” belting out lyrics which stopped just when our Strawberry Quik sugar highs did.

And do not even get me moving on concerts and my tastes . My first concert was in high school. A decade later, I appreciated a Judy Collins performance. (Can it be too much to acknowledge I sing”Send in the Clowns” in the shower?  I mean, tile echos make everybody seem amazing ).  These days, I’m enjoying the cool tunes of this Slakas, a terrific classic rock cover band based out of southern New Hampshire (Billy Squier, Foreigner, Heart… ).  And my music collection on my phone? Wow. It’s everything from Disturbed and Jewel into Bruno Mars and Bocelli.

See what we mean?  The very mention of this word”music” brings back memories and makes us need to crank up the tunes.
