The Bold and Beautiful: SS17 Accessories for Women

New York Fashion Week has goneand we are still processing! Pouring over the photos, studying the write-ups, we are still trying to figure out the big takeaways for SS17. (Apart from another confirmation which Kanye West loves talking about himself!) One tendency will stand out, while the clothes designs were all around the place: the big and daring accessory.

The Latest in Accessories for Women

Accessories were delivered by the New York runways force, from oversize, patterned earrings and vibrant belts by Balenciaga to statement caps and crimson headphones by Maison Margiela. Mimicking these appearances too closely will earn you some raised eyebrows from co-workers and fellow PTA mothers….but if you are all set to station the tendency with wearable models, we have four options you can start with now.

Option 1. Chunky Cuff Bracelets

Skip anything dainty or delicate and reach for bracelets. Alexander McQueen adorned his NYFW models with metallic cuffs spanning a couple inches beneath the elbow, on both arms. It’s possible to find a toned down version of this appearance by dressing up just 1 wrist with three cuff bracelets or two. Luxurious designer watches also play nicely in this fashion — attempting pairing your watch with your a cuff or two to create a statement pile.

For daytime looks, you can be aggressive with blending and matching colours and metals in your pile. In the evening, set a thick pair of arm candy with a more outfit and allow the jewelry do the talking.

2. Dangling Earrings

Extended-length earrings stood out on the runways too. These pair best with long hair that’s left — as they seem like hair jewellery instead of earrings. If you have hair that is short, try an earring that’s chunky, but not too long.

3. Sparkly Gloves

Lanvin sent models down the runway wearing fingerless gloves — and they looked magnificent! This is not a tendency for the heart, even though this sort of accessory can transform an otherwise dull ensemble. Two choices that are more wearable — and a lot easier to look for — would be the bracelet ring (shown below) or some hanging chain bracelets which drapes multiple thin chains over your hand.

4. Statement Sunnies

We all love a fantastic pair of sunnies, do not we? For the following set, go for colors in the frames and the lenses. Also look for frames which are sharp and angular vs. rounded. This can be a fun and certain to be a conversation starter.
