The North Face: Easy, Quick, All-Natural DIY Facials for Winter

Maintaining your complexion glowing and moisturized when the weather is windy, chilly and rainy is unquestionably a challenge. You don’t need to make a spa appointment to keep your skin looking its very best. A couple items are in your pantry or fridge that you could whip up into DIY facials!

Get a youthful glow, minimize wrinkles and fine lines, and get rid from materials you have around the house — all of blemishes. Here are a couple of recipes to try as part of your skincare regimen that is weekly.

All-Natural DIY Facials for Winter

For Oily Skin: Oatmeal Mask

Oatmeal

Egg yolks and olive oil are a perfect combination for raising the oil and giving you a healthy glow which will guard your skin.

Mix one egg yolk with a cup of instant oatmeal and a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil; stir the ingredients and add apply to your own face. Leave on for about 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water and then apply the moisturizer you use before going to bed or putting on your makeup.

For Acne: Citrus and Baking Soda Mask

If your skin is more prone to breakouts, mix equal parts baking soda and lemon or orange juice together. Use the mixture and leave on your skin for 15-20 minutes.

You may feel a slight tingle as the citrus juice cleans your pores and brightens your complexion. The baking soda helps to remove bacteria and impurities from the skin. This treatment can be used once a week (twice per week for very oily skin) to keep skin blemish-free.

For Dry Skin: Milk Avocado Mask

Avocado

A teaspoon and one small mashed avocado or two of milk works wonders on dry skin, especially during winter. Avocados are rich in vitamin E and A, which nourish the skin and protect it from free radicals. The milk helps to keep elasticity and feeds the skin protein.

For Pores: Egg White Mask

If you have large pores and wish to your skin tone while minimizing breakouts, then try out a simple egg white facial mask. Purchase a carton of egg whites that are pre-separated, and then put a few tablespoons in a bowl. Add a dab of soda or lemon juice, and brush the mask on your face.

Leave it on for approximately 15 minutes, or until it dries. Rinse with cold water to keep your pores from expanding, and follow with an oil-free moisturizer.

For Fine Lines: Yogurt Honey Mask 

Honey and Yogurt

Mix of yogurt and a teaspoon of honey together with this feel-good facial which will smooth out fine lines and wrinkles and gently exfoliate the skin. Both honey and yogurt supply protein and B vitamins, which are essential for a smooth, even skin tone to skin.
